Biography

2018/ 2019 has been an exceptional year for me. Since returning to Cornwall in 2008 it has been my focus to be able to become a registered British Ballet Organisation Teacher. Last year, I embarked upon my Level 6 Extended Teaching Qualification with BBO and passed with distinction. I’m honoured now to be able to access and deliver their Syllabus in Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Tap. Starmakers Performing Arts now specialises in Dance and offers this internationally recognised programme, including the chance to partake in Exams, which are fully accredited and hold UCAS points. Valuable to anyone going into further education. I pride myself in holding the highest dance teaching qualification it is possible to have and make it my mission to deliver a fun and varied dance programme to develop healthy dancers.

I’m equally looking forward by developing my Special Educational Needs Programme. Firstly by creating bespoke packages for schools, working with a range of conditions including Autism, SPD and Aspergers. Secondly by launching The Wonder Project; delivering the English National Ballets Dance for Parkinson’s classes in North Cornwall. Over the next five years I aim to be working towards my Masters in Dance Psychotherapy.

Each Summer I continue to develop a creative and site specific strand to my work, collaborating with Cornish Visual Artists, Script Writers and Composers to deliver an inspirational Summer School. In 2017 we delivered Wonderland in Ten Acre Woods, 2018 was The Enchanted Garden in Helland Barton Farm, and 2019 brings a new project full of mystery and adventure!

Finally, in terms of Vocal Tuition I cannot ignore the success’ of my student Amos Mayland, who, after a year of coaching, was successful in joining The School Of Rock team, in the West End. He is playing lead guitarist Zak Mooneyham, and is on until Summer 2019 (having been asked to sign a second contract).
